Big enough and diverse enough for everybody to find their place
The School is big enough and diverse enough for everybody to find their place, but the pastoral care system is well articulated to ensure individual care. Our focus is on the wellbeing of the whole student; the academic, personal and social.
In Pre-K to Year 6, the class teacher is the primary pastoral carer, supported by our specialist teachers and support staff. The Junior School Executive Team oversee all pastoral and wellbeing programs in consultation with the Student Support Team.
Each week a wellbeing period in Years 3 – 6 is included in the students’ timetable and programmed by the Director of Students 3 – 6. Pride time, programmed by the Director of Early Learning, continues weekly in Pre-K to Year 2 to develop understanding around the Barker values and on developing effective relationships.
